Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.
1. Use License
1.1 Grant of License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the ReceiptScan app on your personal device(s)
- Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes
1.2 Restrictions
You agree NOT to:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the app
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Interfere with or disrupt the app's functionality
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the app
- Use the app to harm minors in any way
- Transmit any viruses, malware, or malicious code
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the app
- Resell, rent, lease, or sublicense the app
2. Accounts and Subscriptions
2.1 Free Tier
The free version of ReceiptScan provides:
- Unlimited splits per month
- Advertisement-supported experience
- Full receipt scanning functionality
2.2 Premium Subscription
Premium subscriptions unlock:
- Ad-free experience
- Split history and saved receipts
- Priority customer support
2.3 Subscription Terms
- Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store
- Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled 24 hours before the renewal date
- Annual subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled 24 hours before the renewal date
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions
- No refunds for partial subscription periods
- Pricing may change with 30 days' notice for new subscription periods
2.4 Free Trial
If offered, free trials:
- Automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends
- Are available once per user
- May not be available in all regions
3. Intellectual Property
3.1 Our Rights
The Service, including all content, features, functionality, code, design, graphics, and user interface, is owned by wpmark.dev and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
3.2 Your Content
You retain all rights to the receipt images and data you create using ReceiptScan. We do not claim ownership of your content.
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- We do not have access to your receipts or split history
- You are solely responsible for backing up your data
- We are not liable for any data loss
3.3 Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about ReceiptScan, we may use them without any obligation to compensate you.
4. OCR Accuracy and Liability
4.1 OCR Technology
ReceiptScan uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract text from receipt images. OCR accuracy depends on:
- Image quality and clarity
- Receipt format and legibility
- Lighting conditions
- Camera quality
4.2 User Responsibility
You acknowledge that:
- OCR results may contain errors or inaccuracies
- You are responsible for verifying all extracted data before using it
- Split calculations are based on the data you provide/approve
- We are not responsible for incorrect splits due to OCR errors
- You should always double-check amounts before sharing with others
4.3 No Financial Advice
ReceiptScan is a utility tool only. It does not provide financial, legal, or tax advice. Consult appropriate professionals for such matters.
5. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
5.1 "AS IS" Basis
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS
5.2 No Guarantee
We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Defects will be corrected
- The Service is free of viruses or harmful components
- OCR results will be accurate
5.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, wpmark.dev shall not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Business interruption
- Errors in OCR results or split calculations
- Disputes arising from using split calculations
Even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months, or $100, whichever is less.
5.4 Jurisdictional Limitations
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.
6. Third-Party Services
6.1 Apple App Store
Your use of ReceiptScan is also governed by Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In case of conflict, Apple's terms prevail regarding App Store matters.
6.2 Google AdMob
Free tier users will see advertisements from Google AdMob, which has its own privacy policy and terms. By using the free tier, you agree to AdMob's policies.
6.3 Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites.
7. Privacy and Data
7.1 Privacy Policy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at: https://receiptscanapp.com/privacy-policy
7.2 Data Storage
All user data is stored locally on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account. We do not store your data on our servers.
7.3 Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time through Settings > Delete All My Data, or by uninstalling the app.
8. Termination
8.1 By You
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app from your device.
8.2 By Us
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you:
- Breach these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Use the Service for illegal purposes
- Abuse or exploit the Service
8.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your license to use the Service ends immediately
- You must delete the app from all devices
- All disclaimers and limitations of liability survive termination
9. Changes to Terms
9.1 Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon:
- Posting updated Terms in the app
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Providing in-app notification (for material changes)
9.2 Acceptance
Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you disagree with changes, you must stop using the Service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless wpmark.dev from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Any disputes with other users regarding split calculations
11. Dispute Resolution
11.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
11.2 Arbitration
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except:
- Small claims court actions
- Intellectual property disputes
- Actions to enforce these Terms
11.3 Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve disputes individually. You waive any right to participate in class actions or class-wide arbitration.
11.4 Exceptions
Some jurisdictions do not allow arbitration agreements, so this clause may not apply to you.
12. General Provisions
12.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and wpmark.dev regarding the Service.
12.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
12.4 Assignment

We are not liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
12.6 Survival
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including: ownership, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
